Kalgan Ironrock Riesling
Wine
Willoughby Park Kalgan Ironrock Riesling is a single site wine sourced from the estate's Kalgan River vineyard. Situated in rocky beds abundant in iron ore, the vines produce flavourful grapes.
The grapes are gently pressed to tank and allowed to cold settle. The juice is then cleanly racked and naturally fermented with wild yeast. In some vintages, a portion ferments in barrel. The temperature is kept cool to retain fresh fruit aromas.
After fermentation the wine is typically left on lees for three months to build structure and texture. At bottling the wine is fined and filtered.
Bright straw, Willoughby Park Kalgan Ironrock Riesling is a textural, floral and zesty wine with a tangy natural acidity and long mineral finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
